Events Committee

The Events Committee is committed to organizing and developing special events that promote the vision of USGBC and the Oklahoma Chapter while creating networking opportunities for membership.  The Events Committee develops and delivers programs and events designed to attract new participants, retain existing members, and meet the diverse needs of the Chapter.  The Committee is responsible for creating a programs event schedule at the beginning of each year and distributing program announcements at least three weeks prior to each event.  The schedule and announcements are posted on the website for membership viewing.  Events are coordinated with the Membership and Fundraising Committees in order to expand Chapter membership and revenues.

The Events Committee may develop include special themed events, evening speaking arrangements, lunch-and-learns, holiday parties and green building tours, that may also include opportunities for Professional Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits.  The committee advertises special events on the website and strives to incorporate various aspects of green building and development, including LEED for new construction, existing buildings, homes, retail, and neighborhoods in the programs.

When feasible, all Chapter meetings should be managed according to the Green Meetings guidelines promoted by the U.S. Green Building Council.
