Emerging Professionals
The Emerging Professionals (EP) Committee strives to promote education, collaboration, and networking among students, young professionals, and members of USGBC, on both the National and local levels. The EP Committee has four main goals: advocacy and outreach, education, service, and networking. The Committee is open to emerging green professionals with five years or less working experience in the growing green building industry. Therefore, Emerging Professionals is primarily composed of students and young professionals, but it also includes seasoned professionals from other industries that are new to the green building field. An aim of the Committee is to integrate students into the green building movement through the Chapter network, and Emerging Professionals are mentored by the Membership Committee and Chapter leaders. The EP Committee is encouraged to host events at educational institutions for aspiring architectural, engineering, environmental or other professionals interested in green building. EPs also collaborate with the LEED in Schools Committee and other organizations.
