Meet the USGBC Oklahoma Chapter Board of Directors and Staff.

 

Executive Committee

 

Terrell Hoagland: Chair

Terrell Hoagland attended both OU and OSU and works in construction management for Flintco, Inc. based out of Tulsa, OK. He is a LEED-AP, member of the Oklahoma Chapter of the USGBC and is Green Advantage Certified. He is currently working on the Tulsa Technology Center’s new $40 million dollar Broken Arrow Campus Expansion. He spearheaded Flintco’s participation as a pilot company in ABC’s Green Contractor Certification Program and consults on all local LEED Certified projects within the company. He teaches an introductory sustainability class through the NCCER and attends the yearly Greenbuild conference as a representative of Flintco.

Gary Shifler: Vice Chair

Mr. Shlifer is an expert consultant and educator in sustainable design practices and the LEED certification process for the gamut of LEED rating systems including residential, new construction, EBOM and schools.  He guides project teams and stakeholders towards the superlative design, construction, operations and maintenance of sustainable built environments and Performance Green Buildings.  He is the resident LEED Accredited Professional and Chief Sustainability Professional for CH Guernsey, one of Oklahoma City’s most reputable and well known Engineering and Architecture firms.  He is a facilitator of the integrative design process, a fundamental of performance green building.  He is also a LEED GA/BD+C instructor for accreditation exams and the Vice Chair of the U.S. Green Building Council Oklahoma Chapter.

Levi Frost: Treasurer

Levi Frost is a Project Manager at Manhattan Construction Group, a national construction firm with operating companies including Manhattan Construction Co., Manhattan Construction (Florida), Inc., Manhattan Road & Bridge Co., and Cantera Concrete Co. Manhattan ranks among the top-tier of builders on Engineering News-Record’s Top 400 Contractors list and is responsible for building some of the country’s most notable structures. The company’s portfolio includes corporate headquarters, institutional, laboratories, healthcare, office, sports, entertainment, aviation, retail, mixed-use, judicial, casino, hospitality, condominium, solar, road, and bridge projects. Examples include the new Cowboys Stadium and Texas Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas, the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center in Washington, D.C., World of Coke in Atlanta, Georgia, Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas, NASA Exploration Sciences Building at Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, ONEOK Field, the BOK Center and Saint Francis Children’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Sarah Dayringer: Secretary

Sarah Dayringer primarily consults on energy efficiency policy and sustainable development strategy.  She was the Rio+20 Assistant Coordinator for US non-profit SustainUS delegation to the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.  Sarah was one of five organizers for the US/Canada Citizens’ Summit for Sustainable Development, which took place in March of 2012 at the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.  Her involvement on the United Nations Environmental Programme’s TUNZA program steering committee was focused on leading the creation of the Bandung Declaration.  From that experience she became a research associate conducting research on global energy policy, intergenerational participation and leadership models for global North-South relations.  Sarah holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Arts degree in Public Policy from Central European University.  There she focused on global markets and energy policy as a part of the Energy Policy Research Group and the North American Roundtable on Sustainable Production and Consumption.

Board Members

 

Temur Akhmedov

Temur Akhmedov, LEED AP, has been involved in energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability full time since late 2004. After receiving BA in Sociology from the University of Oklahoma, Temur was involved in wide range of projects. Early projects were related to economic diversification of resource rich transitional economies of former USSR, distant learning and privatization of large-scale enterprises. Privatization project were a joint venture of World Bank and the Government of Uzbekistan. As an active member of sustainable community, Temur has been involved with early efforts to start USGBC-OK chapter in 2005-2007. He served on the boards of such organizations as Oklahoma Renewable Energy Council and Oklahoma Green Business Alliance (OGBA). Temur actively participates in activities of Oklahoma Sustainability Network, a variety of professional and business networking organizations. Over the years, he spoke on issues of energy efficiency, renewable energy, economics of sustainability and green building to a wide range of groups, from summer camps to an association of real estate investors. In early 2011, Temur joined ES2, Inc, an Oklahoma City based engineering firm, and championed a statewide initiative Benchmark Oklahoma™ Program and implementation efforts for Governor Mary Fallin’s Oklahoma First Energy Plan.


Terry Clinefelter

Florida native Terry Clinefelter joined the Division of Science & Engineering at Oklahoma State University-Oklahoma City in 2009 to head the Construction Management Technology program. Mr. Clinefelter holds a bachelor of science in Business Administration from Florida State University and a master of science in Construction Management with emphasis in sustainability from the University of Florida. Working closely with the Wind Turbine Technology program, he is lead instructor in the development and adoption of a new program melding on-site renewable energy, building energy efficiency and sustainable construction practices. These efforts showcase the college’s determination to become a leader in renewable energy and sustainable construction in Oklahoma.


Scott Pardee

Scott Pardee serves as the Managing Member of Pardee Construction with a focus in sustainable construction and federal work.   He is a LEED Green Associate, certified for removal of Lead based paints, and has a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management Technology.Scott has built and renovated stores for retail clients including Target. These projects were typically reflected a six month accelerated construction schedule with day/night shifts while the store remained open to the public.Scott has also worked on new construction projects for the Target Corporation, built mixed use condominiums, and hospitality centers in the Southern California area. Scott’s company provides construction management and design/build services. Additionally, Scott implements sustainable building practices with many of the building types he offers.


Aaron Smith

Aaron Smith is the Environmental/LEED Specialist at The Ross Group Construction Corporation (TRG) in Tulsa, OK.  He attended North Eastern State University in Tahlequah where he received his B.S. with a double major in Safety Management and in Environmental Management. Aaron is currently LEED AP BD+C credentialed and Green Advantage certified.  He has been working in the sustainable construction field since 2008.  TRG has certified 3 buildings in the LEED rating system for the United States Army Corps of Engineers and is currently working on 6 other LEED projects. At some level Aaron is involved in all of the LEED projects TRG works on, anywhere from estimating to construction to the certification process.  He is also in charge of TRG’s education program for the growing number LEED AP’s and Green Advantage certified employees.  Aaron has had the opportunity to attended Green Build for the past three years representing TRG and the Oklahoma chapter of USGBC.


Jamie Stacey

Jamie Stacey is a Leadership In Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Coordinator and a Project Manager Assistant for SGS, LLC.  As such, Ms. Stacey reviews all projects for potential sustainable design ideas or LEED points with a complete understanding of the LEED rating system. Her responsibilities are to track LEED credits throughout the design, construction and post-occupancy phases, to ensure that the design-build team is fulfilling all LEED requirements. Ms. Stacey also coordinates with both design and construction teams for LEED certification and considers options beyond LEED guidelines.  Jamie has successfully completed eight LEED Silver projects for SGS, LLC.  Jamie joined the USGBC Oklahoma Chapter in 2008 and has recently pursued a more active role in the Oklahoma Chapter by serving on the Membership Committee.




Chapter Advisory Member

 

Lin Bacon

Lin Bacon has had extensive experience since 1975 in mechanical engineering, design, consulting, and building construction.  He is the President of Phillips+Bacon, a consulting engineering firm he co-founded in 1982.  He is responsible for all mechanical engineering design and project management with Phillips+Bacon which encompasses comprehensive HVAC, plumbing, building automation/energy management/temperature control, alternative energy sources, and fire protection systems design for a variety of commercial, educational, industrial and institutional projects totaling well over $150,000,000 in mechanical system construction costs. Mr. Bacon also has a widespread reputation for his knowledge in the field of sustainable energy; including alternative energy sources such as Heat Pump Geothermal Technology and solar and wind power. Phillips+Bacon have been continuously striving to be on the forefront of green building design and have been migrating toward “green” thinking and sustainable design techniques for quite some time.

Chapter Coordinator

 

Craig Immel

As USGBC Oklahoma’s Chapter Coordinator, Craig provides day-to-day management of Chapter fundraising, membership and governance operations.  In addition, Craig provides leadership in strategic planning and team building initiatives to help accomplish the Chapter’s mission of providing top-quality green building and sustainable design education in Oklahoma.

As Managing Member of Native Geothermal and GPF Building Solutions, and as Founder and Editor of Green Real Estate TV, Craig operates businesses that combine his interests in the environment, natural resources, energy, real estate, construction and digital media.  Craig holds a Master of Science degree in Real Estate and Construction Management from the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Oklahoma State University.  He is also a legacy LEED AP and an IGSHPA accredited geothermal installer.  Craig has recently been named one of Oklahoma Magazine’s “40 Under 40″ 2012 Class of outstanding young professionals, and received the OSU Environmental Science 2011 Green Award for Sustainability.
