GREEN BUILDING & PREPARING FOR LEED GREEN ASSOCIATE

 

“Green Building and Preparing for LEED Green Associate” is a two-month long online training opportunity beginning September 6th through October 29th 2010.

 

Participants who successfully complete this course are eligible and prepared to sit for the US Green Building Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate exam.

This course includes:

Two USGBC publications:

"Green Associate Study Guide" and

"Green Building and LEED Core Concepts Guide",

Study activities and practice exam questions to prepare for the LEED Green Associates exam,

Access to the USGBC Core Concepts and Strategies online course

and other selected USGBC presentations and webinars.

Discussions facilitated by USGBC LEED Faculty™ who are LEED Accredited Professionals

with years of experience in LEED and green building.

BD+C 301: Implementing the Building Design + Construction

LEED Rating System

 

“BD+C 301: Implementing the Building Design + Construction LEED Rating System” presented by the U.S. Green Building Council: (September 24th from 8:30am-5:00pm at OSU in Oklahoma City, OK)

Open to the public

 

This workshop will help to fulfill the “LEED Specific” CMP requirements for LEED APs with the BD+C Specialty Credential, and (like all USGBC LEED education programs) meets GBCI eligibility requirements for the LEED Green Associate.

This workshop is intended for professionals who are familiar with the LEED for New Construction or LEED for Core & Shell Rating System, but new to implementing it on projects or looking to brush up on implementation best practices. It is also appropriate for those pursuing GBCI’s LEED AP

Building Design + Construction credential.

An official USGBC LEED Faculty member will walk the class through the phases of a typical project, including key decisions that project teams must make and guidance on how to make them. Throughout the day, you will engage with other participants in interactive activities that use case examples to enable you to work hands-on with the LEED Rating System.

Kim Limbaugh, USGBC Oklahoma Chapter Education Committee Chair, will explain the CMP requirements for LEED AP’s who have either taken one of the new LEED Professional exams or have enrolled (or plan to) to earn a specialty designation.  This general overview will focus on the following: enrollment, continuing education hours, delivery methods, categories, prescriptive requirements & online reporting.

The presentation will last about an hour with a Q&A to follow.  Additionally, a brief overview of the programs offered by ITT Technical Institute will be provided and an opportunity to tour of their facility will follow our presentation.
